Week 01
class 01 . January 07 -

Introduction to the class. Review syllabus. Review planned bindings and structures. Introduction and discussion of Pamphlet Stitch structures.
Demonstration of Pamphlet Stitch and Double Pamphlet Stitch books.
Construct basic operations booklet. Work in class.

class 02 . January 08 -
 Demonstration of book board construction.
Introduction and discussion of Linked Folio structure.
Demonstration of Linked Folio book. Work in class.

class 03 . January 09 - 
 Introduction and discussion of Accordion structures.
Demonstration of Continuous Strip Accordion book. Work in class.

class 04 . January 10 -
 Introduction and discussion of Accordion structures, continued.
Demonstration of Double-leaved Accordion book. Work in class.

class 05 . January 11 -
Workday, First round of projects due. (Turn in at least 1 book)

Week 02
class 05 . January 14 -

Introduction and discussion of Link Stitch and French Sewn section structures.
Demonstration of Link Stitch and French Sewn section books. Work in class.

class 06 . January 15 -
Introduction and discussion of Long Stitch structures.
Demonstration of Long Stitch book. Work in class.

class 07 . January 16 -
Introduction and discussion of Hinged and Portfolio structures and Stiff Leaf structures.
Demonstration of Stiff Leaf Album book.
Demonstration of Modular Hinged book and Portfolio Case. Work in class.

class 08 . January 17 - 
Introduction and discussion of Coptic structure.
Demonstration of Coptic book. Work in class.

class 09 . January 18 - 
Workday, Second round of projects due. (Turn in at least 3 projects)

Week 03
January 21 - NO CLASS

Martin Luther King Holiday, OPTIONAL WORKDAY

class 10 . January 22 - 
Introduction and discussion of Japanese structures.
Demonstration of Japanese Four Hole book structure. Work in class.

class 11 . January 23 - 
Introduction and discussion of Japanese structures, continued.
Demonstration of Japanese Multi-Section book structure. Work in class.

class 12 . January 24 -
Course Evaluations, Workday

class 13 . January 25 - 
Workday, final class. Turn in all completed projects at end of class. (At least 3 projects)

January 26 - 
Final turn for all work (a maximum of 2 projects may be submitted on this day) by
5:00 PM to box in Carnegie lab, Pick up books starting Monday January 28 in room
